It sounds logical, but, like nigel, I'm somewhat skeptical of essentially whitelisting previous successful login IP's. Still thinking about it though. If you use WHMCS, have WHMCS on a separate server, and think your users can remember how to log into WHMCS, then you might be interested in the autou...

Old Script Finder
Anyone had any experience with this tool:
http://oldscriptfinder.com
It seems reasonably priced as a subscription service and could be quite helpful in getting some major security holes corrected.
Any feedback or opinions would be appreciated.
Thanks!

We can say we found their plugins easy to install and helpful. The DNS Check rarely provides any information of use, but we guess finding a single problem would make it worthwhile. The Mod_Security plugin does give a slightly different and useful perspective as a complement to the ConfigServer Mod_S...

We don't want to knock your work and clever approach, but you might want to try this free plugin from NDCHost. Yes, they are a competitor but they do have a few freebies we have found to be most helpful. http://www.ndchost.com/cpanel-whm/plugins/ The Clean Backups plugin also gets weekly and monthly...

Name it whatever you like, fix_short_tags for example. Without a command line directory specified as an argument, it defaults to beginning in the current directory. And yes, it makes the edits in place via the perl options. We've now made php5 (with suhosin) our system default. The typical fixes for...

Converting php short tags
If you're in the same position of trying to drag users and their legacy scripts from php4 to php5, you may find the following script very useful to cleanup php short tags. I've cleaned hundreds of files by hand and then with a few sed, tr and perl variations of my own. Then I stumbled on this and it...

We like the idea about being cooperative and Indie, Indy, Indi, or even Inde would all work for us. We're not sure we share the concern about .org vs .com, especially since it's such a trivial site not likely to be confused with this magnificent forum. We can't help but say maybe co-op would work be...

And I thought I was old and out of touch! :) Run the name by your kids. They'll get it. Indie is quite the thing to be. And it pretty much describes what we all are: Independent Hosts. I also give it points for 2 syllables that roll off the tongue like Alahosts, which was a brilliant name just unfor...

As you've moved domains to the various non-Alabanza solutions, how are you handling secondary nameservers? We'd be interested in hearing your thoughts on various alternatives and solutions.

Changing direction to solve the problem, you might want to look at optional ways to prevent caching:

Cleaning distribution lists
Aside from the possibility of a new "dismemberer" script from Arf, does anyone offer their clients tools for cleaning bad email addresses from their distribution lists. I understand that SmartList will by default remove addresses after 5 bounces, but we're tired of seeing the mqueue full of the same...

CartXpress with Element Express Payment Services
We have a customer using CartXpress who is working with Element Express as their payment processor ( http://www.elementps.com ). I haven't been able to locate a module/interface in my searches, and don't have any experience in creating one at this point. Anyone else ever used this company or have suggestions ?
Thanks!
Thanks!

For what it's worth, and I'm pulling from distant memories, the first letter really doesn't have anything to do with permissions. I'm not sure I understand the difference you're describing, but it could be that your other servers use a shell other than bash. As you say, pressing the up arrow will move back through your commands. If you're moving quickly and miss what you want, the down arrow key takes you the other way. You ca...

Keeping customers informed
I am so glad we set up an emergency info site (actually.info version of our domain name) for our customers several years ago (back in the fire days). It has made it much easier for customers to be informed of any scheduled or unsceduled outages. They go there first before calling or emailing us...wh...
