Ok A little of topic but still cool

I found this today. *************************************************** Sometimes I work with many files and I need to replace a phrase with another one in all the files or I need to see all the occurences of a word in a file without the rest of the details. Windows Grep is a tool that makes your li...

Thank you...

I don't think server load will be major (that's what testing is for) I can parse text files at a tremendous rate (that what perl is for). The real trick is the dictionary tests and the easy of installation for the common man when I am done. Might need a couple of CPAN mods. I might also just need to...

I am working on another

I am trying to build a "dictionary defense" solution, basically if 50% of the words in the e-mail are mispelled (or some percentage). Building in perl and testing a routine that won't slow down the server to much. Will keep everyone informed.

Another idea from your client

I have an artist that had the same problem. Everyone from myspace was linking him to death. I suggested to him that if his art was so popular that he just make the images 20PX bigger at the bottom and place their URL on the image itself. Linking droped 22% but additional sales are up 36%.

Sorry Thad.. I have to.... :-(

I See that Thad reads this forum and he will be mad me mentioning this because I tourtured the Alabanza staff with something that I thought was supported but they don't really do. That being said I got them to set SpamAssassian (with mimeDefang and clamAV (which was the trick)) to ammend the subject...

We love copermine...

I as building a control panel installer for it as a value added service for my clients. As for installing ImageMagic I just want to say 2 things. 1) Alabanza supports cpan (if you don't know what that is. it is like Yum or apget for Perl modules) look it up. it installs easy. 2) If you install local...

short on help...

Sorry ... it is not so much a program as it is a module. If you had a program (Perl) you just collect the data and send it to this module. It would format it, send it to authorize net, and get a response (so send back to your program again, just save this as Authorizenet.pm and use it. not "plug and...

My solution

OK>>>> IF you are Perl savvy then this will very helpful. If not I am sorry to make your problem confusing. This is a Module I wrote to handle AuthroizeNet. This was written a while ago and was cheap and sleazy. oh.. did I mention it works... package Oneko::AuthorizeNet; ############################...

I use'd to do something like that.

It didn''t work out for me. The sites you host have to have 1) revelant content and 2) get traffic. They took up LOTS of drive space and made no ROI. Also. My solution to automatically put ads on accounts was to alter the way that apache worked. (also used to put tag lines at the bottom of client si...

Got it working!!!

Thad go it to work!!! Yea Thad!!!! Hip hip Hurray!! Hip hip Hurray!! Hip hip Hurray!! Just to be clear. I was not dogging Alabanza support on this issue. I just "try" to factor a certian percentage of my Alabanza bill as "Support" because they do so much, it is far less I have to do In-house. And in...

changing subject line in spamassassian

I use spamassassian on my other servers (not Alabanza), and altering the suspected spam subject lines by adding ***SPAM*** for easy client filtering is easy. When I asked Alabanza to setup my RBL's and spamassassian I asked to have it set up that way and to only FLAG and not delete. They said it was...

This is how I would do it...

If all went well and you just wanted to uninstall. If you installed from an RPM it would be easy but, my example uses configure and make so... might do it something like this. find / -name python2.4 -ls use this to confirm that you are finding only python2.4 files then only after you are sure that a...

The short answer

First... If you follow the instruction YES everybody can use it. as for fixing it.... It depends what broke but I reasoned it out and got it to work first time so I didn't have the opportunity to try to undo it. I would think that no matter what is installs the program in its own python2.4 dirs unde...

Update

You have to run "./configure" and "make" as a user (not root) and it will set up without reading the current python version. then when you change to root and run "make install" it installs installs into a different directory. /usr/include and the program in /usr/lib The most important thing is the p...

I just had a good experience with Juan. He did a great job. Support is one of Alabanza'a major downfalls but I seem to always count on Thad and now maybe Juan too.

Why reinvent the wheel

I have been a provider for a long time with servers on many co-lo's. The one thing that I had to do (and I went kicking and screaming because we can program anything) is. Just because you can do something dosen't mean you need to. I desided to use Alabanza's system and not keep looking for the bigge...

I think .htaccess is better

I made some changes in the httpd.conf and as soon as alabanza updates the server they write over your changes. I was doing some major changes to apache with Mod_re-write and mod_perl, and learned that Alabanza had a custom Mod_re-writ (not mispelled). I broke EVERYTHING in my first week installing M...

I have bought 4 other web companies and had to set up the accounts myself but all those companies were not alabanza companies.
