Re: Alahosts.com going away?

I can't speak for Alahosts, but I know that Navisite is kicking us off of the old Alabanza platform. We recently received a letter from them informing us that they would be closing our service later this year. We are having to move all of our remaining Alabanza accounts over to cPanel servers. This ...

Re: 2x Drives?

Sorry, I have to side with Liquidweb here.

RAID1 implies 2 drives, so you're getting 2 250GB SSD drives set up in a RAID1 mirror.

Then 1 1TB SATA drive as a backup drive.

mod_deflate will lower your bandwidth consumption at the cost of more CPU cycles. Will it make your website load faster? This is impossible to know. It will make the size of your website being sent to a browser smaller, so in theory this would increase the speed. But if your CPU is having trouble ke...

One could argue that the opposite is also true. If a vulnerability exists, then it needs to be addressed, hiding it doesn't really solve the underlying problem. If the vulnerability is out in the open, then it can serve to light a fire under those who are responsible for closing the vulnerability. S...

Should be able to use something like: convert -delay 100 -loop 0 file1.gif file2.gif file3.gif animated.gif This will combine the files file1.gif , file2.gif , file3.gif into an animated gif named animated.gif . The images will delay for 1 second each and it will loop indefinitely.

I just called the number on the letter from Elavon as we read it to be that you had to have the scan completed and be compliant by 12/15/08 or you would be charged the $135 We now are and have passed all of their requirements so I called to see what we needed to do to let them know. They told me the...

Has anyone else received any updates regarding this issue? It is about a 5 day old issue for us and it is still not working for us. Does changing the password to the same password clear this up when checking mail using the POP3 server?

Webmail and POP3 use different systems. Resetting the password seems to work when using webmail but it does not work when checking mail with a regular POP3 client.

Pop mail rejecting password

Since the update this morning we are having users that have issues with passwords that are more than 8 characters. It works with webmail just not with pop mail. This was in the notice that was sent out that it was one of the problems fixed with the latest update but seems to have caused our clients ...

Well our customer contacted Navisite again yesterday and they told him to contact the DSM owner. It is definitely unsuspended completely when they unsuspend. I have came across a problem with 3 accounts that I am trying to suspend in the DSM. Nameservers work on a round-robin style. The keywords primary and secondary nameserver are really misguided. When a DNS lookup is performed for a domain it has a 50-50 chance of being looked up on the nameserver that is listed as primary and a 50-50 chance of being looked up on the nameserver that i...

I have heard of some slight compatibility issues with scripts that were written for PHP4 and they don't work with PHP5. You wold first setup your accounts on the new server. The new host should assign you new IP numbers for your nameservers. You would then setup your accounts and upload your files on the new server. Then to modify the IP's on the nameservers you would have to contact the registrar that registered you...

Is there any truth that the IPs that aren't working are due to this problem with the 207.x.x.x IPs they referred to in Navisite's last update on their website? It looks like they are bringing up separate Class C IPs one at a time. If the IP address you are trying to access is on a Class C network that has not been brought up, then it won't be working. This is why some accounts may be working and some accounts may not be working. This is the best I have bee...
