Latest Migration News
For those of you having problems with chat I thought a thread might be a good place to share news. Last I saw was 6pm *maybe* from Rob at NaviSite.
If you can access chat and have any further update or have news from elsewhere, please post!
Thx
Dave

Anyone know if the compensation clauses in the contracts we signed with Alabanza are still worth anything?

Servers that successfully rsync'ed will be coming online in a few minutes.
First truck has it's server being installed right now.
Second truck should be arriving at Andover very soon.
Third truck should have left Baltimore by now.
Fourth truck still being packed now.
I have one server coming live shortly, one server on the second truck and another server on the last truck.

The above is required reading. Thanks to Oki for the find.
Here's an email I got this morning from a client:
"This move has obviously gone badly wrong, as we have been down now for more than 24 hours.
What is going on? When will our site be back up?
I have now moved it to a backup host until this is sorted out.... please
update me if/when it can be moved back.
Steve"
Well, I can make something up for Steve, and for the rest of the emails and calls that will be coming in, or I can hear from Navi. But the news better be more honest than what we've gotten so far.
I was shocked to hear some servers weren't even moved until this morning! Hopefully, Navi will have better luck than Hostway in their migration. (See link above.)

Finally got a response from Navisite at 4am this morning.
My server is on the truck.
This is the first I have heard of this.
No Phone call.. no email to my offsite account.
I basically emailed from my offsite account and finally got that response there.
I am guessing they perhaps sent mail to my server account.. NICE

Hi This is Shelley. I am currently working for Tom on the True Presence sites. Any news on when the sites will be back online? I migrated TruePresence and a few other sites last week and pointed the name servers off network so we are not completely dead in the water but most of our clients are and I have been up most of the nights fielding calls and emails. I don't mind that but I have no idea what kind of timeframe to give these people.

This stinks to more lies.. here all the servers (800 or more) they are in truck.
I challenge somebody that indicates me a server that now is online
Okidoki, Ours came online for a few minutes roughly 30 mins ago, but it's gone back offline. While online, I was able to do a trace route reflecting Navisite.
What a relief!

Where did you hear this?
Don't DDOS attacks attack 1 IP? Why would all sites or all servers be taken back offline because of a DDOS attack?
Where these sites attacked before the migration as well, or did these attacks mysteriously appear coincidentally right when Navisite brought the servers back up?
This doesn't sound right to me?!

they now say any lie now to have the clients in tranquility.
