Client Forgot Password Script
After getting sick and tired of all of the support calls from clients who forgot their password I finally figured out a way to create an automated system to help alleviate these types of support requests.
Simply add a few pages to your website and your customers will be able to send the welcome letters to themselves!
Complete Automated Solution:
Client is presented with a simple form asking only for their domain name
System automatically locates their account in the DSM and sends the welcome letter(s) to the address(es) on file.
System offers the ability to email you when the client requests their password and/or when the retrieval request fails.
100% customizable HTML to perfectly match your website.
This script with detailed installation instructions is available for $25.00.

Bulk Register
How does the Bulk Register script work? What I need is a sign up page to work with Authorize.net and the Bulk Register API system to allow automated domain only sign ups.
Any ideas

hmm, this sounds similar to a conversation you and I had at the confererence. Except I was explaining how I was going to write just such a script. I guess you beat me to it.
Cool.
For people with coding experience, check this one out:
http://alahosts.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=1033&highlight=password
For those who don't have access to the secure area, it has the source code of a very basic php page to retrieve the password or anything else from DSM. (Full comments in the source code)
Ask Arf for access to the secure area:)

Great job on the script Hortoni - Easy to set up and customize too! And I like the notification feature (I'll love being able to see how many times I didn't have to resend welcome letters manually). This will certainly be a time saver from a support standpoint as well as for the clients
Thanks!

Hugs to Arf and Hortoni, and Arf, where's your tip jar?
The mood and workload I'm dealing with today has me in a frame of mind to simply buy hortoni's solution and be done with it... Yay, hortoni! Thank you! :o) But I'd like to tip my (or, *all* of the *many*) hat(s I wear) to Arf...
And Arf, maybe you *do* have a tip jar of sorts on your official "server candy" osCommerce cart. I'll go check that out right now, If not, you should. :-) 'Cause I'm also goint to send a bit your way. :o)
My best,
Erica
P.S. and um, er... Thomas did NOT pay me a dollar to post this! :o)

True, her fee has gone up since the conference.anykey wrote:P.S. and um, er... Thomas did NOT pay me a dollar to post this!)

Glad you're happy with it. If you run into any questions please let me know!
Thanks!
I'm very happy with it! My only issue now is deciding where I want to place it for my clients... I guess my support area would be the best place but many go to the main site to look for things (why? I don't know!). Hmm, maybe both places wouldn't hurt

I wrote a quick login form for the front page of our site. The user enters their domain and selects Control panel or webmail, It takes them to the correct login screen. I'm going to modify it with a "forgot password" link. I'm also going to create a colorful image link on the support page. Hopefully that will help cut down on the support calls. Most clients seem to visit the home page for our phone number before they call.

Please don't blame the author of the script or Ala for this. If you knew how the script works you would have to expect that it would break until the author got a chance to update his code to match the new DSM. I held up on selling my DSM spider months ago because I saw this coming. All in good time, I'm sure Hortoni will have it up and running soon.

Oh I certainly don't blame anyone. One is a third party tool and another by a separate party. Neither one could anticipate this change. I expected problems with the DSM, but didn't consider third-party tools. Silly me.
It's an awesome tool, and I want to support the author for his/her work.
If there's an update for this, count me in.

I wasn't blaming anyone, just adding another log onto the pile of issues/bugs with the latest rollout. I know full well about 3rd-party 'breakage' that occurs when updates are pushed. I just didn't expect this one on top of the others.
I hope Hortoni doesn't take offense, it's certainly not his fault. Just another lovely situation we can attribute to Murphy and his Laws.

You can get the script at www.alatools.com. Due to the problems people have been experiencing since the new DSM was released I would suggest waiting until after I have the issue figured out.
