URGENT:Anyone know what real estate script this is?

Post by Sapphyre » Tue Mar 29, 2011 5:26 pm

For editing static pages, the admin area has links like this:
/cgi-bin/homepage/text.cgi
The page has little edit buttons which open a very plain looking form

Code: Select all

<FORM action="text.cgi" method="post" onSubmit="return submitForm(this.submitbutton)">
And the listings come up listed with links for
Edit - Preview - Del - Feature
i.e. Edit link is:
/cgi-bin/listings/listings.cgi?action=edit_form&key=02012011

It's broken at this point so I can't see the edit form for any more clues... broken and the host basically said they're shutting down - hence we need to move this client ASAP as they can no longer update any listings.

So I should find "something" if I did this:

# dir /home/*/public_html/cgi-bin/listings/

I came up empty. Sorry. Give us some URLs to play with.

I can't get to any file structure - the client was only given access to this sitebuilder of some kind that seems to be geared specifically for real estate, or else it uses some template. Accessed via http://domain.tld/update

The resultant HTML page looks like

Code: Select all

<!-----------------------  Title2 begins ------------------------------>
<span class="title">
Experience the Difference
</span>
<br><br>
<!-----------------------  Title2 ends -------------------------------->
<!-------------------- Textfield2 begins ------------------------------>
<span class="bodyText">
We are an // TRUNCATED // please contact us. <BR>

</span>
<!-------------------- Textfield2 ends -------------------------------->
<br><br>
<img src="/images/spacer.gif" width=380>
          </td>
          <td align=center valign=top>
<br>
<br>
<!-------------------- Featured Home begins -------------------------------->
It is from Webminders.com / NJtech.com

This host had to add new pages; the sitebuilder only gives client access to change the actual content of specific pages (title + paragraph text + image). Clients could not change the site's design template on their own. They could not even add a new title+paragraph on a page. The host would have to set these editable fields up in the sitebuilder template first.

AHA - SOLVED

Post by Sapphyre » Wed Mar 30, 2011 6:10 pm

It seems that webminders/NJTech.com are higher up the chain. My clients host were developers using WM servers, but these devs had created their own software as I found
"We won’t be dropping our own custom-made, proprietary CMS that has faithfully powered our user-updateable websites for the past 11 years, but we will be shifting the bulk of our website development work to WordPress CMS."
Thanks everyone for any sleuthing you've done on my behalf; As always, your help is much appreciated!
